TELUS Discounting many devices by $50 on a new 2-year contract

This week, TELUS is discounting the iPhone 5, HTC One, Galaxy S4 and Blackberry Z10 by about $50 when you sign a new 2-year contract. Yes that’s a 2-year contract and not  3-year contract.

TELUS’ new SharePlus Plans Went Live this Week

Earlier this week, TELUS’ new SharePlus plans went live. For those of you familiar with AT&T and Verizon’s plans, they are pretty similar. Smartphones are $55/month then you have your data starting at 250MB for $15/month and goes up to 10GB for $100/month.

Xperia Z Available on Bell for $149.95 with a new 2-year contract

Now that 2-year contracts are beginning to be the norm in Canada, Bell has now put their Xperia Z on sale for about $149.95 with a new 2-year contract. That’s honestly not a bad price. And definitely better than signing a 3-year deal with a carrier.

TELUS Taking Legal Action over Spectrum license transfer rules

It appears that TELUS is looking to take legal action against the federal government over the spectrum license transfer rules. We’ve talked about this before, but the spectrum license transfer rules in Canada are quite different compared to the US.

New Nexus 7 has Arrived in Canada

Last week, Google and ASUS announced the New Nexus 7. It had been available only in the US, but it appears that it’s now available at some retailers in Canada. That includes Best Buy and Future Shop. It went live on July 31st, so you’ll want to get out there quickly. The new Nexus 7 has a 1920×1200 resolution 7-inch display, 2GB of RAM and a slightly smaller battery. Along with Android 4.3 on board.
