Here we go folks. We’re hearing from the HTC Americas President, Jason Mackenzie that we should be seeing Android 4.3 on all the HTC One’s and DROID DNA’s in the US and Canada by the end of September. So in the next 6 weeks we should be seeing Android 4.3 hit all of those different variants. Which is actually quite surprising, given that the Android 4.3 update just hit in late-July.
Jason Mackenzie said in his tweet that they need certification. Which sounds like they are just about done with the update. Which is great news for HTC users. This comes just a day after the same guy promised that the Developer edition of the HTC One would be seeing Android 4.3 soon, and that it would be skipping Android 4.2.2. He clarified that statement today to include all the HTC Ones (AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon, C Spire, and the Canadian versions) along with the Verizon DROID DNA will get Android 4.3 very soon.
We’re still going to urge you to take this all with a grain of salt because we’ve seen broken promises from HTC, and many other manufacturers, in the past. Anyone remember the ICS update for the Thunderbolt? As much as I want to believe that HTC can get the update out in just a few weeks, we all know how our carriers are here in the US. Sure Verizon has gotten faster lately, but I’m sure AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile aren’t in any real hurry to get Android 4.3 out there. Especially with the bugs and problems those of us on Nexus devices are experiencing with Android 4.3.
We’ve heard already that Samsung would be skipping Android 4.2. as well for their Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 devices, and would skip ahead to Android 4.3. So this whole thing does sound plausible. We’ll be sure to keep our eyes on updates from HTC for the One and the DROID DNA and keep all of you up to date.
How many of you are excited for the Android 4.3 update? Do you think you’ll see it before the end of September? Let us know your thoughts in the comments down below.
