Motorola has just unveiled the Moto X. AT&T has also just announced that they are going to be carrying the device and have given us some details about their variant of the Moto X. It appears that only AT&T is offering the customization options we had heard. And it looks like AT&T did indeed get an exclusive on the customizations. Here are all the AT&T-only customization options:
- Color options for the front and back (2 colors for the front, 16 for the back)
- Accent colors for the power key, volume key and camera ring (7 color options)
- Adding your name or short message on the phone
- Unique wallpapers
- Wake-up message
- Memory capacity – 16GB ($199 with 2 year agreement) or 32GB ($249 with 2 year agreement)
We had been hearing many of these customizations over the past few weeks and even months. It’s surprising to see the 16GB version running at $199 on a contract and the 32GB version for $249 with a 2-year contract. It’s interesting that you can get different accents for power key, volume key and even the camera ring. The Moto X will be available in 16 color backplates, and 2 colors for the front. Which is probably black and white only.
Thanks to the Moto X, AT&T is basically going head-to-head with Verizon’s DROID lineup which will be launching later this month on “America’s most reliable” network. Many of the features on the Moto X are also on the DROID Mini, Maxx and Ultra. We’re expecting much more Moto X news between now and the end of the day. All the news is just now beginning to surface so make sure you keep it locked to Android Headlines for all the details.
How many of you are going to head to AT&T for the Moto X? What do you think about the customization options for the new Moto X? Is it a bit overboard, or is it just enough? Let us know your thoughts in the comments down below.
