That’s right folks, finally the wait is over, well if you’re on AT&T that is. For the longest time we’ve been hearing about the Moto X, or the X Phone as it used to be known, and now it’s finally available to purchase. Sure, it’s just one carrier right now but, the X will soon spread to other carriers in the coming weeks. The device is available from AT&T starting today, both in store and online. Prices start at $199 on contract for the 16GB model, with the 32GB (which isn’t currently available, yet) running $249. If you’re not looking to buy the device on contract, it’ll run you $579 for 16GB and somewhere in the region of $629 for the 32GB model.
According to Droid-Life different color combinations of the device should be available for you to take a look at in store but, the MotoMaker website isn’t currently live yet. When it does go live, we’ll update this post. While the device is listed available in black and white online, you might want to pop into your local AT&T store to get some info on the whole MotoMaker situation. Personally, if I were to buy the Moto X, I’d want to make my own device so maybe it’s worth waiting to get your hands on MotoMaker.
This is a pretty important launch for Motorola and while there’s been some negativity in the media concerning the device’s specs, the performance seems perfectly reasonable. The Moto X seems like a pretty good return to form from Motorola to us. Pricing is a little difficult to swallow considering the specs of the device but, we suppose that’s just the US Wireless Industry at work.
Needless to say, AT&T is the first port of call for those of you looking to get your hands on the Moto X and for a lot of you, might be the best carrier to do so. Let us know in the comments if you’re looking to get one of these, or if you already have one!
