The new Nexus 7 (2013) is going to be one of the hottest selling tablets available this fall. In Canada, big box retailers have been selling the device for a few weeks already. The 7 inch tablet is now available through the Google Play Store too. It’s less expensive to order it through the Play Store, so this is a great option for Canadian Android fans. The 16 GB model is only $229, while the 32 GB version will set you back $269. These prices also include free shipping, and delivery is promised within 1-2 business days. These are the Wi-Fi versions only, however. There is no hint of a version with LTE connectivity.
Google also has a new Nexus 7 Sleeve case available on the Play Store today. It’s there for Canadian customers as well. The Nexus 7 Sleeve is a form-fitting black case with a soft grey microfiber interior. It is priced at $29.99.
The ASUS Google Nexus 7(2013) is a worthy successor to last year’s model. Unveiled on July 24th in San Francisco, California, the new version builds on the previous model in ways that consumers will appreciate. The bezel is smaller, the processor is faster, and the camera will take better photos. The display has been upgraded to a very high 1920 x 1200 resolution with 323 pixels-per-inch. It looks amazing. Starting at $229, it is priced to be easily accessible to everyone, even consumers on a budget.
We are hearing word that there may be some bugs in the new Nexus 7 model, however. There has been a bug causing random reboots on the device. Some users are seeing the issue on a daily, sometimes hourly basis. Some owners have no issues at all. Google will certainly be working to find this problem and fix it quickly.
We are also starting to hear rumors about the Nexus 7’s big brother. A new Nexus 10 is due out this fall, and could be announced as soon as next month. The new Nexus 10 may be built by ASUS this year. Both the old and new Nexus 7’s are manufactured by ASUS, but last year’s Nexus 10 was made by Samsung.
Canadian readers, are you seeing the new Nexus 7 on the Play Store yet? You can find it on the Play Store here.
