Mobile Syrup has an interesting leaked document today from Rogers. According to this new internal doc that was leaked, it appears that Rogers is selling the Moto X this weekend but in limited quantities. It appears that Rogers stores have been getting shipments today. But there’s no idea how many or which stores in particular will be getting it. If you’re looking to pick up the Moto X in Canada, you’ll probably want to reserve it online using the Rogers Reservation System or you can call your local store. The doc in particular says “The Moto X has begun to ship to select Rogers locations in limited quantities. If an existing customer is unable to locate a device, please direct them to log into the Rogers Reservation System to reserve a device and it will be delivered to the Rogers location of their choosing when it’s available. New Customers can register for updates at www.rogers.com/motox. They’ll receive an email as soon as devices become available nationwide.”
The Moto X on Rogers is going to be $189.99 on a 2-year contract, yes a 2-year contract. No more of the 3-year contracts up in Canada now. We’re also being told that it’ll be $550 outright, which is about the same price we’ve seen it from AT&T here in the US. It’s also worth noting that MotoMaker won’t be available for Rogers just yet. We’re expecting to see MotoMaker become available to other carriers, including Rogers, Verizon, and Sprint around November. Giving AT&T about a 2 month exclusive on the customization.
So it appears that Rogers will be the first carrier worldwide selling the Moto X, beating out AT&T who is supposedly the first US carrier launching the device next Friday.
How many of our Canadian readers are going to be attempting to pick up a Moto X this weekend on Rogers? If you do decide to go out and find one, be sure to let us know in the comments below which store you got yours from and how much or little you are loving the device.
