AT&T's Moto X Next Up for the Camera Update, As SOAK Test Invites Go Out

In the past (before Google bought them) Motorola would do soak tests before they pushed out an update to everyone. This would be a relatively small group of people that would get the update early and provide feedback to Motorola. So they can see if the update ready for the masses or if they had more work to do. Well since Google bought Motorola, I haven’t heard anything about soak tests until today. So it looks like Motorola is going to continue doing these.

Earlier this week, the T-Mobile Moto X began getting a new update which greatly improved the camera on the device. I already thought the camera on the Moto X was pretty good. While it wasn’t the best, it wasn’t terrible either. This update really improved the camera on the Moto X and is making a lot of people happy. So it’s great to see Motorola getting to these updates rather quickly. Now we don’t know for sure if this is the same update, or maybe the full Android 4.3 update. Since Android 4.3 was leaked for the Moto X just last week. We’ll have to wait and see, once these testers get their update.

Here’s the email sent from Motorola to a soak tester on AT&T:

Hi,

Thanks for joining the Motorola Feedback Network. We are inviting owners of the Moto X on AT&T to participate in an early preview of a new software release, and provide feedback.  If you are not currently using an AT&T Moto X, please excuse and ignore this email.

I’m actually really excited to see how fast Motorola can push out these updates, especially with the carriers being in the way. So far with the DROIDs from 2012, they’ve been pretty quick with updates. At least when you compare them to the few years before. So let’s see what happens.
