Finally. The Nexus 7 2013 LTE variant is now available for purchase. You already know the Nexus 7 2013. We’ve done a review on it already, and it’s one of the best tablets released this year, and hands down the best 7-inch tablet of 2013. The LTE variant is the 32GB model and does support AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon’s LTE bands all on one model. So there isn’t an AT&T Nexus 7, T-Mobile Nexus 7 and a Verizon Nexus 7. Which is great, in my opinion.
T-Mobile has partnered up with Google to provide 2GB of 4G LTE data for free to purchasers of the Nexus 7. The 2GB of data is for the first month only and you’ll have “no obligations”. What’s great about that is that it will allow people to check out T-Mobile’s service without having to spend any money. We all know how T-Mobile’s coverage is. It’s great in some areas and bad in others. This way users can try it out. It’s a great idea from T-Mobile to help gain some customers that are afraid of their coverage.
The Nexus 7 does feature a 7-inch 1920×1200 resolution display, along with a Snapdragon S4 Pro processor powering it. There’s 2GB of RAM for multi-tasking, a 3950mAh battery, and 32GB of storage. There’s also a 5MP rear-facing camera now, which is a great addition. For the price, even the LTE model is a great choice. Where else can you get an unlocked LTE tablet for $349 with these kind of specs? It’ll be pretty hard to see.
The Nexus 7 is available for $349 from Google Play and offers free shipping. It’s stated as shipping in 1-2 business days. I’m sure it’ll be available at other retailers soon, if they aren’t already. So if you want to walk into your local Best Buy, Walmart or other retailer, you should be able too soon. As Google was promoting how many retailers will be carrying the Nexus 7, I’d expect this one to be available in several retailers as well.
