Earlier this week, Samsung announced a fewnew products and showed them off at their Unpacked event in Berlin. Among those was the refreshed Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet. With it’s pretty long name, Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition. It’s also using the same material on the back as the Galaxy Note 3, the faux leather. It’s actually a pretty nice looking device, and that’s coming from someone that’s not all that high on the plastic look of Samsung devices lately.
Once the members of the press that were in Berlin got their hands on the Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition, many found out that there’s a new version of the Twitter app pre-installed on the device. A version that no one has seen before. That would be a tablet-optimized version of their app. Yes, a tablet-optimized version of the official Twitter app. Can anyone say “it’s about time”?
This new version of Twitter seems to be only optimized for 10-inch tablets. I’ve got it installed on the MeMO Pad HD 7 here and while it does look nicer than the regular Twitter app, unless you’re using it landscape, you won’t notice much of a difference. Nonetheless, it’s still nice to see this version finally available or almost available. Given that it’s installed on the Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition, I’d expect to see it released rather soon.
I tried to install it on my new Nexus 7 but it was unable to open the apk for some reason. However it did work fine on the MeMO Pad HD 7, for what it’s worth. So keep that in mind. Other than that you’ll just install the app just like any other app. Download the apk onto your device and then install, making sure that “Unknown Sources” is checked in the settings. We’ve got the download link down below for your convenience.
