Here’s some good news for those that don’t have Samsung’s latest flagship, the Galaxy Note 3. There’s a new leak coming out of Droid Life this afternoon which shows us some of the dates for the Android 4.3 update and when it should be hitting each carrier and which devices. Looks like the earliest date shown is October 2th, and believe it or not, that’s for the Verizon Galaxy S4. So we should see on Monday if this table is indeed true. We’ve got dates for the Galaxy Note 2, Galaxy S3, Galaxy S4 and Galaxy S4 Active. Unfortunately, it looks like the Galaxy S4 Active will see their update last, as it’s slated for Christmas Eve. Wouldn’t that be a great Christmas present?
Remember that the Android 4.3 update doesn’t bring a whole lot of changes to the Galaxy S4 and Galaxy S4 Active as they are on Android 4.2 already. The biggest change is support for the Galaxy Gear. However for the Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy S3 which are still on Android 4.1.2, it’ll be a bit bigger change, and those updates are coming in November.
What’s the most interesting to me is seeing that the Gaaxy S4 on Verizon is getting it first, but for the other Galaxy devices, Verizon is last or almost last. What’s also surprising to me is to see T-Mobile behind. Lately, they’ve been one of the first to push out updates, especially with the Android 4.1 update on the Galaxy S3 last year. So I’m a bit shocked to see their Android 4.3 updates rolling out last on each phone listed.
Either way, we’ll find out soon enough if these are indeed the dates for the Android 4.3 update on each of these Samsung devices. Hopefully they are the correct dates, as I’m sure many of our readers are excited to get their hands on Android 4.3 for their Galaxy Note 2, Galaxy S3 or Galaxy S4. Or if you’re on AT&T, maybe the Galaxy S4 Active as well. How many of you have just given up and have flashed a custom ROM? Let us know in the comments below.
