Our friendly leaker, @evleaks, has provided us with not one, but two images of the newly announced HTC One Max, giving us a glimpse of just what carriers will be selling the new behemoth of a phablet whose display measures 5.9-inches. It is the BIG brother to both the HTC One Mini and the original HTC One – identical on the outside with a brushed aluminum body. The exact dates it will be available for sale and its selling price still eluded us, but the fact that we are now seeing branding on the device, usually indicates the actual release date is nearing.
Our first leak shows the typical AT&T branding in the notifications bar and down at the bottom, where the HTC logo is usually placed. This was certainly not unexpected, but at least the AT&T logo is less obtrusive than the Verizon model, shown below.
Yes, folks, here we have the familiar Verizon “check mark” branded HTC One Max in all of its glory – I wish they could come up with a better logo than the check mark, although not too big here, I cannot wait to see what the back of the device looks like!
The HTC One Max retains most of the original HTC One’s specifications, except for jumping the screen size from 4.7 to 5.9-inches, while retaining the 1080p resolution. The same Snapdragon 600 Quad-Core 1.7GHz processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB/32GB Internal Storage, the same 4MP UltraPixel Camera, and huge 3300mAh battery…and the HTC One Max includes a microSD slot to expand the internal storage capacity. The one main addition is the mounting of a fingerprint scanner on the back of the device, seen below, directly under the camera and led flash.
So far we have heard nothing from AT&T, although both Verizon and Sprint have already made the announcement they would be carrying the HTC One Max. The international roll-out is slated to take place by the end of October which usually means the U.S. will not see it until shortly after, however, Verizon has stated they will have it for the Christmas holidays.
Are you going to pick up the newest HTC One rendition or is it too big for you or have you decided to go the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 route…let us know in the comments or on Google+.
