You Can Now Add Credit and Debit Cards to Google Wallet With Your Camera

Lately, Google Wallet has been a pretty popular topic. With the Android 4.4 update, Google made Google Wallet a bit better for everyone to use. Since it dropped the secure element, which means there’s no reason for phones on Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile not to support Google Wallet. Other than the fact, they are trying to push ISIS onto everyone.

On Thursday, Google Wallet pushed out a new update to the app through Google Play. One of the new features in the update was the ability to take a picture of the debit card or credit card to add it to your Google Wallet account. While it may  not save you a ton of time, it’s definitely a cool feature to have. Kind of reminds me of the feature in most banking apps like Paypal, where you can take a picture a check to deposit it into your account. Although that’s never worked for me. I do have higher hopes for Google and Google Wallet. We’ll have to wait and see how great this feature actually works.

Don’t forget that Google Wallet physical cards are on their way as well. This week Google opened up the page to request your physical Google Wallet card, which will arrive at your house via the mail in about 10-12 days. Which is the normal wait time for a new card to come. Remember that the Google Wallet physical card works everywhere that Mastercard is accepted. Which is just about everywhere. Although, Google Wallet is still in the US only right now, unfortunately.

How many of you are adding your debit and credit cards to your Google Wallet account right now using your camera? Let us know in the comments below how good or bad it turns out for you.
