Black Friday shopping definitely isn’t for everyone. If the pushing crowds and long lines aren’t appealing to you, don’t worry: you can still get some great deals on Android apps and games today.
Amazon and Google Play are both doing app promotions for the holiday shopping weekend. Amazon’s deals are today only, as Android Central is reporting, while Google Play is doing a “cyber weekend” sale that goes through Monday. The Play Store is also offering some discounts on movies and music. Look for the “Cyber Weekend” card on the Play Store app to check them out.
To get the Amazon app deals, you will need the Amazon Appstore app, and the Appstore will need to stay installed and signed in on your device for these games to work. Amazon has an authentication system that will break if you uninstall the Appstore itself. Note, too that installing and using the Amazon Appstore does require you to check the “unknown sources” box in Android’s security settings. Remember to always be careful when getting apps from outside Google Play and make sure you trust the source.

There’s a lot to choose from here, and most of them are highly reviews apps. Some of these games are very graphic intensive and may not run well on older hardware. So be sure to take advantage of the Play Store’s 15 minute refund policy by testing the game as soon as it finishes downloading. If it won’t play smoothly on your device, you can get your money back.
