Sony Prepares Android For The PS4 With New App Update

If the anticipation for Sony’s next-gen console wasn’t already bad enough, Sony decided to dangle everything in front of you a little more by updating their PlayStation app for android to support the new PS4’s features, and get you prepared to fully integrate with all that their new system has to offer once it’s released.

The PS4 is set to release in the coming days(Nov. 15th to be exact), and if you’re one of the lucky ones who’ll be picking it up right at launch, make sure you download the Sony Playstation app if you haven’t already, or update it from the play store if it’s presently on your Android device. This is a major update to the app with tons of new features to support the new console and even has an updated UI to better fit with the UI design on the ps4.

As for what new features will actually be present in the app, you can expect the same stuff as before, and Sony being the good fellas that they are, decided living up to their word was best so expect the new app to plug right into the ps4 and give you full access to just about anything you want to do with the console. Messaging your online friends is a given,

but besides that the update brings capabilities to support the buying of games and starting the remote download of them to your console much like the Android app for Steam. No more waiting till you get home to buy a game, just purchase and start the download no matter where you are. it’s that easy. Full access to the PlayStation store in general will be there, so you shouldn’t and most likely won’t be limited to the purchase of games.

As this is the next generation of consoles we’ll be seeing the next generation of features to interact with those consoles from our other devices as well. Second screen access for supported games is a huge addition and really brings the experience with your system full circle to interact with your games in a whole new way. What more could we ask for in the times that we live in? Honestly, I just want to be able to stream my games to the app and force my friends and loved ones to watch me play. What games is everyone most excited for once the ps4 launches? Hit us up in the comments.
