Swiftkey Is Working on 5th Row for Numbers, and Emoji Support

Earlier this week, Swiftkey rolled out version 4.3 out of beta and into the Play Store. This update merged the tablet and phone apps and also brought along different keyboard layouts, which are pretty cool. Now looking on the Swiftkey site, where they collect feedback for new features, it looks like they are getting ready to add Emoji Support as well as an option for a fifth row one the keyboard for the numbers.

For the Emoji Support Idea, the Co-Founder, Ben stated “Just to reassure you that we’re listening, and now working on this feature. Thank you for supporting us and for your excellent ideas and suggestions” He also said basically the same thing for the Number row idea as well. So hopefully we’ll see these two features coming soon. Of course, when that is, we have no idea. Since these are not “ground-breaking” features like Swiftkey Flow or even Swiftkey Cloud, we may not even see a Beta for these features, but then again, maybe we will.

I’m actually more looking forward to the 5th row for numbers, that will be optional, more than the emoji support. Because with the 4.3 update, they switched the number pad to the other side of the screen, which I’m still trying to get used too, after having it on the left side for a couple of years now. It would also make it a whole lot easier. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m excited for Emoji support too, it’s just not high on my list of things that would get me excited.

Swiftkey is still my keyboard of choice. I even prefer it over the stock Android keyboard from Google. Additionally, it’s getting tons of updates and more functionality, in what seems like every week. Swiftkey is definitely worth the money, and you can grab it from the Play Store now.
