We have already reported this earlier, and it is apparent that in the coming year, Samsung aims to have a larger chunk of the tablet market. It has been rumored that Samsung would be releasing no less than 4 new tablets in the early part of 2014. If rumors are to be believed, as early as the first quarter (January to March) 2014 we will be seeing these four new tablet devices. The ultra-cheap (approximately 100 EUR) priced Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Lite is expected to be a part of this arsenal, also expected is a 12.2 inch Samsung Galaxy Note which would be aimed at business users.
The 4 tablet launch rumor notwithstanding, we have received news that two new, and hitherto unknown, tablet devices have been spotted in shipping manifests. An Indian import site – Zauba’s database suggests that two Samsung tablet devices – the SM-T900 and the SM-T905 – were shipped to India recently for testing purposes. The documents also provide us with the expected price of the device – INR 34,608 (approximately $560). These high price points bear testimony that these devices would be high-end premium tablets with respectively Wi-Fi and LTE connectivity on board.
There is no confirmation as to what these tablets actually are, though if we go by speculation, the model codes are very similar to the previously rumored 12.2 inch Galaxy Note (SM-P900). Speculatively speaking, these could be the much rumored 13.3 inch tablets which Samsung is rumored to be working on, targeting business and productivity users. As per rumors, the 13.3 inch tablet devices would be capable of dual booting into Android and Windows RT and would launch as the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2014. However, any actual confirmation would have to wait till the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2014, when Samsung is expected to make its official announcement.
We are confident that more rumors and details on these models would be available pretty soon, seeing that this year is almost at an end and Samsung will not have much time to make an official announcement if it wants to start selling in the first quarter of next year.
