Enter A New Dimension Of Sound With The Mad Catz F.R.E.Q. 4D Gaming Headset

Mad Catz makes a wide array of gaming accessories for many different platforms, ranging from controllers, keyboards, gaming mice, and headphones. They even just recently released their Android microconsole called the M.O.J.O. The newest product that they recently unveiled will be the follow up to their F.R.E.Q.3 headphones (titled the F.R.E.Q. 4D), which they’re actually built off of, and will feature the same technology found in the Able Planet Linx Fusion Headphones from ViviTouch. The two companies have paired together to make one formidable and awesome headset that actually makes you feel like you’re immersed inside your games. The electroactive polymer technology from ViviTouch, is basically a tiny subwoofer that sits behind the 50mm stereo speaker drivers that allow you the capability to hear low frequency effects from the games. What this does is add a sort of realness to the game that can really make you feel like you’re a part of it. As reported by The Verge, the effects are heard through the skin and bones around your ears, making this a truly unique experience that you would just have to hear to believe.

The F.R.E.Q. 4D are going to retail for $129 once they’re available, which isn’t too terrible considering some of the competition when it comes to other various Gaming Headsets. Plenty of them actually cost upwards of $200 or more, so when you get right down to it this isn’t a bad price for what sounds like will be an amazing audio experience for gaming. The F.R.E.Q. 4D headphones are usable with multiple platforms, including PC, Mac, and Smart Devices, as well as game consoles that will support a USB connection. As a standard, the F.R.E.Q. 4D will connect to supported devices via USB, but an optional 3.5mm audio connector will allow you to use it with your smartphones and tablets too, so you can game on anywhere with the same high quality audio that you expect at home. The only downside I can see here is that to get the effect from the ViviTouch technology, you’ll have to use the USB connection, so this means you won’t get the special immersive audio effects while using this headset with your smart devices. It seems you can already order these Headphones from the Mad Catz Website right now, so if you’re in the market for a new pair of Gaming Audio, give these a look and let us know in the comments what you think of the device.
