Google Nexus 10 Goes Out of Stock on Google Play – Perhaps Permanently?

Since the last few months, only the 32 GB variant of the Samsung made Google Nexus 10 was available in the Google Play store. The 16 GB variant had been sold out and had not been restocked. As of today, all variants of the Google Nexus 10 have been sold out of the Google Play store and the device is out of stock.

Since Google did not restock the 16 GB variant, we can safely assume that the Google Nexus 10 has gone out for good. The device was first released in November 2012, and despite loads of rumors of an impending upgraded version release, no updated devices with the Nexus 10 moniker were rolled out. If our speculations are correct, Google not restocking the device on Google Play is an indication that we would be getting a new and upgraded Google Nexus 10.

Since Google follows a pattern of yearly updates to the Nexus line, the rumor mill was strife with fresh content as to the whereabouts of an upgraded Nexus 10 model. Thusly, we have had our fill of rumors surrounding the next iteration of the Google Nexus 10. In December last year, we had heard rumors from “reliable” sources that a new and upgraded version of the device would launch on Cyber Monday. Once that rumor turned out to be – well – just a rumor, we again heard whispers that the device would be launching at CES this year. The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2014 came and went – no Nexus 10 was in sight anywhere.

In the current round of rumors surrounding the Nexus 10 2, the device would purportedly ship with a Tegra 4 CPU instead of the previously rumored Snapdragon 800. It is also being rumored that Google has stuck with Samsung to manufacture the device. However, be advised to take all rumors with a pinch of salt.

Rumors aside, we would consider the lack of a device and any subsequent decisions of not restocking it as a good enough proof that an upgraded or new version is about to roll-out soon. We’ll just wait and watch. Do you agree with us or not? Do let us know in the comments below.
