Leaks For The HTC Update Schedule Have Appeared; Shows KitKat On The Way For The HTC One Soon

Thanks to infamous leaker and HTC insider LlabTooFer, we now have a great idea of when to expect the Android 4.4 KitKat update to hit various HTC devices. Currently the HTC One, among others are on older versions, with the HTC One GPE being the only HTC device to receive the kit kat update so far. We can view the details of when to expect the Android 4.4.2 update to drop by way of a leaked road map, which shows us when the updates for the HTC One, HTC One dual sim version, the HTC One Mini and One Max, as well as the HTC Butterfly and Butterfly S are to leave HTC’s hands and head over to the carriers to be distributed. Once the carriers receive the updates files, they can proceed to push everything out to consumers, but who knows how long that will take. All of the phones that are currently scheduled to be updated to KitKat are having the software version tested on them right now as displayed by the road map, so while the testing is being done we just have to wait patiently.

Dates and timeframes aren’t exactly specific in the image, but they do have a general guideline. The HTC One, and the dual-sim HTC One, along with the One Mini and the One Max are allegedly getting the updates sometime around the end of January or beginning of next month. The Butterfly and the Butterfly S are supposed to be getting it sometime between march and April. All the devices that will be receiving KitKat are expected to get the update to sense 5.5 along with the update to 4.4.2, and the HTC One alone is supposed to get the update to Sense 6.0 sometime towards the end of the summer to early fall. The roadmap also displays a list of devices that aren’t going to be receiving any KitKat love at all, or that were originally planned too but those plans have been cancelled.

As this is just a leak, we can’t ourselves confirm that these dates are when the updates will actually show up, but we have every hope and belief that we can expect them around these times. If you are the proud owner of an HTC One, are you eagerly awaiting some Chocolaty goodness as much as we are?
