Moto X Down to Just £299 Unlocked in the UK

When the Motorola Moto X launched in the US last year, we were a little shocked by the device’s cost. Not because it wasn’t a great device – which we found out in our review – but more because the specs inside of the Moto X just didn’t compare to the likes of the Galaxy S4 and the HTC One, both of which carried the same price tags (at least on contract, anyway). Since then however, the Moto X has seen a number of different price drops and special offers in the US, resulting in some pretty incredible deals, regardless of whether or not you want to create your own. In the UK, the device has finally launched and is available to purchase from a number of places, including Phones4u. However, those across the pond are unlucky in that there’s no Moto Maker, and the device is pretty pricey.

Today though, the Moto X is getting its first price cut in the UK. Online retailer Clove UK is now selling the 16GB version of the Moto X for £299 including VAT. That makes the Nexus 5 and the Moto X exactly the same price when buying online and should, unfortunately make such a choice that little bit harder. On the one hand, the Nexus 5 has much better specs, yet on the other the Moto X has some excellent features and is an all round brilliant experience. We suppose the choice is still very much one of personal preference, but at least the price factor has been taken out of the equation somewhat.

This price cut comes just as the device has launched in the UK, so it’s surprising to see the device already going for so little, especially for an unlocked device you can take to any operator you like. No matter what though, the Moto X is a great device that’s well worth its asking price, original or otherwise.
