One of the most anticipated, yet really unknown devices, factual-wise, is the Samsung Galaxy S5 – for a device that is supposedly being launch this Spring, we have no confirmed facts, only speculations and conceptual designs. While I enjoy a good conceptual design as much as the next guy, I cannot wait until we start seeing some real facts leak out – but until that time comes, let’s enjoy many the rumors and concepts that we have seen so far, shared by their designers. The latest design come to us by way of conceptual artist, Ashraf Amer, where he provides us with two renderings made from different materials and specifications that are more like something from a sci-fi device rather than a smartphone.
The artist is treating us to two designs – one concept is a device with a flexible/bendable body that is made from a super flexible metal-polycarbonate combo and is a convex design, while the other device is strictly a super polycarbonate structure and has a concave bend to it. Both designs are extremely thin and there is no mention of a battery size. There are a lot of “super” prefixes flying around, so take this concept as pure rumor – an idea inside the designer’s head where anything is possible, and allowed.
Both designs come with a 4K super 560 PPI super flexible QLED 5.25-inch display. It uses an Octa-core MediaTek MT6592 processor clocked at 2GHz and is coupled with 5GB of RAM. It is sporting a 16MP main camera with great low-light capabilities and comes with a dual-led flash, a 5MP front facing camera (FFC) for hi-quality video chatting and the occasional selfie shot, which are becoming more and more popular. It also packs video capabilities with a choice of either 2160p@30fps or 1080p@30-60fps.
The concept also has both air and eye gestures, and a biometric (fingerprint) sensor, along with an iris scanner. It also features stereo surround sound speakers on the back of the device, one at the top and one at the bottom locations.
Please let us know on our Google+ Page what you think of Ashraf Amer’s design concept for the Samsung Galaxy S5 – do you like it, hate it, and how close to the real Galaxy S5 are his desired specs.
