This years’ Consumer Electronics Show (CES) promises to be an exciting event with so many OEMs promising to deliver great devices. ZTE has been dropping hints all over the place that they will be unveiling quite a slew of devices during CES 2014. With CES scheduled to start in a few short days, (from the 7th to the 10th) we have been seeing a lot leaks. The latest to roll in is from the Chinese manufacturer ZTE and the carrier AT&T.
An unannounced mid-range device from ZTE was approved by the FCC for use on the AT&T network today. The FCC filing reveals the device to be the ZTE Blade G LTE as well as some minor details of what the Blade G LTE would be offering. However in the absence of an official announcement, we will consider the FCC leak to be canon.
The ZTE Blade G LTE supports a MicroSD card, a 2070 mAh battery as well as a 5 mega pixel primary snapper. Connectivity in the form of Wi-FI b/g/n standards is supported, while Bluetooth connectivity is available which complies to Bluetooth 4.0. No details are available as of yet regarding which version of Android would be pre-loaded on the ZTE Blade G LTE, however we assume it to be some version of Android Jelly Bean (4.2.0 to 4.2.2) instead of the latest Android iteration – Android 4.4 Kit Kat.
If the name is anything to go by, the ZTE Blade G LTE would support AT&T’s LTE network. It must be noted that the FCC filing does not give away any details regarding processor, screen size and internal storage, however the available specs and leaked images point towards a mid-range device, with a standard ‘candy-bar’ form factor and three capacitative navigation buttons on the bottom of the device. The backside of the device features the 5 MP camera with flash towards the top center, whereas the bottom holds the speaker.
ZTE has been teasing us to expect some firsts from the Chinese manufacturer to hit us at the CES 2014. The ZTE Blade G LTE being a mid-ranger not withstanding, ZTE has big plans to unveil several devices including a Smartwatch and a 5.7 inch phablet.
