There have been plenty of leaks and rumors surrounding the HTC M8(One Plus, One 2) since we learned that it would indeed be the next Flagship device from the Taiwanese manufacturer, but some of those leaks that popped up earlier today were promptly shot down by the Director for HTC’s Netherlands Division, stating that the images were Photoshopped, basically saying they were obvious fakes. The tweet posted to his personal Twitter account was thrown up around 8 am in the morning, and here we are at nearly 2pm in the afternoon PST on the west coast, and were just starting to learn of a couple more leaked images coming out of Russia that have surfaced of the M8. We’re not exactly sure if this just some attempt at a comedic response to Mark Moon’s tweet, or if these images are real and the poster just happened to catch the perfect opportunity to post them. Whatever the case may be, the question is whether or not someone from HTC will take to the web to debunk these leaks as well.
If they do, we suspect that it wouldn’t be long for these images to circulate around the web and get noticed by HTC. Judging by the look of the photos, this time from a frontal view instead of the back like the ones Moon tweeted about, the images bare a fairly close resemblance to the previous HTC flagship that we all know and love. The dual front speakers seem to be present on the front for the HTC M8, at least, if we’re to believe these leaked photos are indeed that of the device, and there are absolutely no front buttons anywhere in sight. There have been rumors that the HTC M8 would make the jump to sporting the on screen navigation buttons at the bottom to fall more in line with what Google wants for the Android design guidelines, so it makes the images a little believable. However, a leak is still a leak and until a confirmation comes from HTC themselves, you’re best off to assume nothing and reserve judgement.
In addition to the lack of physical buttons on the face of the device in the photos, @evleaks who is rather well known for credible leaks and rumors about upcoming devices, stated in a tweet that the M8 would look a lot like the HTC One. If these images are true then it would seem that his statement about that fact would be correct. We are inching ever closer to the month of March when the HTC M8 is rumored to be launching,(also tweeted by @evleaks) so we’ll know soon enough what the M8 actually looks like.
