HTC M8 to look "Strikingly" Similar to the HTC One

Evleaks has been on a roll with HTC M8 rumors lately. Just last night he posted that it appears to be a late-March NYC announcement for the HTC M8, also known as the HTC One successor. This morning, he posted that the M8 looks very similar to the M7, and that it’s too bad they already have a phone named the HTC One S. But then again, did we really expect it to look much different from the HTC One? So many people have praised the design of the HTC One, so why change it? Just improve on it. Like making the bezels a bit smaller, getting rid of the capacitive keys and going to on-screen keys, which we heard rumored already.

Last year, HTC announced the HTC One in February, about a week before Mobile World Congress, so they could beat out Samsung, although it didn’t really work that well as their device was delayed because they couldn’t get enough processors to build enough phones. Probably due to Samsung buying them all up as the HTC One and Galaxy S4 both ran on the same processor. Hopefully HTC will have a better start this year, and they won’t have to deal with Verizon waiting to launch the HTC One about 6 months later. As that probably really hurt them.

Right now we’re looking at the HTC M8 to feature the front-facing Boomsound speakers which so many of us have fallen in love with. As well as a “better” Ultrapixel camera on the back. There’s also talk of on-screen navigation buttons, and a slightly thinner bezel with a slightly larger display. And if it does look pretty similar to the HTC One, then that’s even better.

How many of you were hoping for a redesign on HTC’s flagship this year? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
