You may not have heard of Kazam, and that’s probably because they’re made up of a small team of two former HTC executives that made the decision to leave HTC, and start their own manufacturing company. Last year they released the Kazam Thunder, which was a budget device launched in Europe only, (another reason why many people probably have never heard of them) and this year they’re following up the Kazam Thunder with the Kazam Thunder 2 4.5L. Save for the fact that this device is a low cost device with less than desired specs for today’s power users and spec hounds, the Thunder 2 is actually quite a nice looking little low-end phone. It even comes with LTE, so you can browse the web and use data connected apps at blazing fast speeds.
The Kazam Thunder 2 4.5L when it launches will sport a 4.5-inch display that carries a resolution of 854 x 480, and it will come with 1GB of RAM. It has 8GB of storage for the internal memory which is just fine for a low-end device like this one, which is actually probably double or more than double the storage of other comparable budget devices. The storage can also be expanded if you load in a microSD card. The Thunder 2 will be powered by a Snapdragon 400 processor, which is kind of amazing considering it’s being termed as a budget device. It’s a wonder they didn’t choose to go with something like a MediaTek processor or Rockchip that might have cost less money to make. Another interesting factor with this device is that it comes with a the promise of getting your display replaced should you damage it, and Kazam is saying they will do it for free. Sound familiar? It should, because that’s what HTC had just promised to do for all of their future devices. This definitely makes the device a little more inciting.
Kazam hasn’t mentioned how much the Thunder 2 4.5L will cost, but seen as how it’s a low cost smartphone it shouldn’t be too much. Kazam has said that the Thunder 2 4.5L will launch in the next few months, so it’s not right around the corner but it’s not too far off either. It’s slated for launch in a few select countries as of right now, but who knows it may end up hitting other markets later on.
