Supposed Images Of Sony's Xperia Tablet Z2 Leak Out

Just earlier today @evleaks had leaked some images of the upcoming tablet from Sony, the Sony Xperia Tablet Z2. The tablet looks rather nice from the shots, and we can pick a few things up just by glancing at it. The UI looks rather nice and in the photo the tablet looks to be running Kit Kat since the status bar icons and notifications are all in white. @evleaks also states this is the OS the Tablet Z2 will be running in his specs leak. His images weren’t the only ones to pop up today, as it seems another Twitter user @gadgetleaks has a few images of their own that they leaked as well. There are quite a few more images here showing off the new tablet from just about every angle imaginable.

We get a good look at some of the ports and how thin the tablet is, and we also see from one of the image shots that it looks like Sony is will be releasing the tablet in Black and White variants. It seems to have a larger bezel then some will probably be hoping for, but having some bezel is somewhat useful as it serves as  a place to rest your fingers and thumbs comfortably. You can see magnetic charging pins in one of the images as well, which is a feature we’ve seen on some previous Sony devices like the Xperia Z1. It looks as though the audio port is on the bottom as well as the initial charging port. The audio port is said to be water resistant so you shouldn’t have any fear of damaging it if the tablet gets wet. This makes perfect sense given one of the images where the tablet is immersed fully under water, also nothing new as this feature is present on at least one of Sony’s other tablets currently.

@evleaks had also earlier leaked some specs for the Xperia Tablet Z2, to which @gadgetleaks confirmed and added in some more of their own spec leaks. The Xperia Tablet Z2 is to come with LTE support as well as a WiFi only version, a 2.3GHz quad-core processor, 3GB of RAM, 16GB of storage space, an 8Mp rear camera, a 2MP front camera, a 6,000mAh battery, and will be waterproof which we already kind of touched on. In addition to those specs, @gadgetleaks has stated that the WiFi only version of the tablet will weigh 426g, while the LTE version will weigh a little more at 439g, and that the tablet’s dimensions are as follows: 266 x 172 x 6.4mm. if all of these leaks pan out, Sony’s follow up to the Xperia Tablet Z sounds quite impressive.
