2014 is in full swing now in the tech world, what with Sony and Samsung already having announced their first flagship devices for the year. HTC is set to announce their new 2014 HTC One, code named the M8, on March 25th, which is thankfully just a few weeks away. One of the stranger things we’ve seen this year is near complete lack of pricing information, and although we’ve seen a few sites speculate as to the cost of the Galaxy S5 for instance, there’s been nothing official. While HTC hasn’t even announced the new 2014 HTC One yet, there have been so many leaks one has to wonder why they don’t just get it over with already. This latest leak comes from a big UK retailer, Mobilefun.com, and is a complete pre-order page for the unannounced phone, listing it at just £580. It’s also listed in USD at a whopping $952.99, but seeing as that’s a straight conversion and is never the way things go when selling something overseas, we can safely ignore that price as an actual US pricing point. Mobilefun has it available for pre-order right now, so if you’re interested in grabbing HTC’s newest flagship the day it hits the market this seems to be the first place that has it available.
The funniest part is that they’ve used an image by Twitter’s @EVLeaks instead of an official press image for the product, which seems to help bring authenticity to all those leaks we’ve seen thus far. Mobilefun also has a great spec sheet attached to the posting that goes into pretty great detail about the new features of the 2014 HTC One. For instance they list that the phone has dual 5MP cameras, all but confirming what we’ve been thinking that extra camera-looking thing is on the back. The phone still features that famous Boom Sound that was one of the biggest reasons to own an HTC One, and also keeps the all-aluminum body from the first as well. HTC seems to have rounded the edges off a bit here too, giving a less harsh grip than the original had but keeping the same premium feel that many other smartphones can only dream of. Mobilefun is also listing a Snapdragon 800 processor in the M8 instead of a Snapdragon 801 as the Sony Xperia Z2 and Samsung Galaxy S5 have, although it’s possible that’s just a mistake in the spec sheet. They are listing HDR video for the camera which seems to suggest that the phone should feature a Snapdragon 801, as that’s one of the biggest features of that new chipset. Everything else here looks pretty spiffy, so if you’re looking at grabbing that gray color on launch hit up that source link below.
