With roughly a fortnight to go before the official announcement of the all new HTC One, you’d think that there couldn’t possibly be anymoreleaks, right? Well, if that’s what you thought you’d be wrong. Coming out of Australia is a piece of promotional material that looks to be from the Australian network, Telstra. In the flyer, some of the key features of the new flagship are outlined, such as BoomSound and the “Duo Camera”. We’ve known for a while now what sort of functionality this new addition to the device will bring, but it’s nice to see something like this to put a little more of an official slant on things.
The full flyer is posted below, and while there’s some pricing that might be of interest to our Australian readers, the real meat is in the duo camera, which reads “Create vivid images even in low light and professionally edit memories after you’ve taken the shot. Choose where to focus. Highlight what you love. Soften backgrounds and add 3D effects.” The real kicker here is obviously “edit memories after you’ve taken the shot” which will no doubt be pushing HTC’s Sense 6 even further, with new camera apps and capabilities. As we saw with the original HTC One and Zoe of Sense 5, HTC is keen to utilize software to create better camera experiences and with a whole new camera module, it’s going to be great to see just what they’ve done.
The easy access part of the flyer also details some additions to Sense 6, such as the ability to wake the device with a double-tap, which we’re sure LG is just going to love. The RRP of the device in Australia seems to be $840 AUD, or at least that’s where Telstra is concerned. That seems pretty steep, but smartphones of this caliber haven’t been reasonably priced for a long time. We’re hoping that HTC has a few surprises in store for us come March 25th and to save their executives some stress, we hope they rethink who handles sensitive data such as this.
