Moto G on Wind Mobile Thursday For only $229 Outright

The Moto G had an exclusive launch with TELUS Mobility and Koodo Mobile last November, but is now starting to show up on other Canadian carriers.  Now that Public is a part of TELUS, they also announced last week they would be carrying the Moto G.  It also launched on Virgin Mobile Canada and now will be a part of the devices available on WIND Mobile – it was thought to be going on their site on today, but is expected to be on their website Thursday, March 27 for $229.

WIND’s price of $229 is slightly higher than the $200 TELUS and $150 Koodo versions, but that is acceptable because the WIND version will come with 16GB of internal storage and the others will only have 8GB of storage.  The price even looks better when paired with a WINDtab – your Moto G would be FREE on a $40 or $50 plan, or cost you $129 on a WINDtab $30 plan or $229 to simply buy the Moto G outright.  Lots of options here on WIND.

Motorola’s entry-level device comes with a 4.5-inch HD display (1280×720) with 329 ppi, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz with 1GB of RAM and 16GB (on WIND) of internal storage, a 5MP Main Camera with LED Flash and a 1.3MP Front-Facing Camera (FFC) for video chatting and selfies and powered by a non-removable 2,070mAh battery.  It is running Android 4.4.2 KitKat out of the box and comes in black with optional back covers and cases.

The Moto G is a device that almost everybody can afford – certainly not packed with high-end specs, but it was not designed to be a high-end device…but a device for people who usually purchased a used device or received a hand-me-down device.  The phone has very solid specs as a mid-range device, but selling for a low-end price.  It offers a nice size display and even at 720p, it offers remarkable clarity – check out our full review on the Moto G. Call quality and battery life are excellent while the camera leaves a little to be desired – but it leaves a quality feel in your hand and offers a great value for the money.
