The HTC One M8 is finally official. While we’ll probably call it the HTC One in the future for short. It’s been one of the most leaked devices in recent memory, but we finally have the complete specs for this beast. As far as the design goes, it looks pretty much the same as the HTC One that they released last year. However we are looking at some much upgraded specs inside, especially with the camera.
The HTC One 2014 has a 5-inch 1080p SuperLCD display, it’s also powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, paired with 2GB of RAM. It also has 16GB, 32GB or 64GB internal storage as well as a microSD card slot. So those that are worried about not having expandable storage, need not worry anymore. Additionally it’s got a 2800mAh battery inside, and it’s also running Android 4.4.2 KitKat and Sense 6. As far as the dimensions go, we’re looking at 146.3 x 70.6 x 9.35mm, and weighs in at about 160 grams. As far as the camera goes, we’re looking at a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, 4.1MP UltraPixel camera on the back and a 2MP shooter above that. Those two cameras are known as the Duo-Cameras, and HTC has a ton of features for both of those cameras that they’ve built in. HTC has also built in a 2600mAh battery inside. It’s not quite as big as we’d like, but it is bigger than the 2300mAh battery we saw in last year’s HTC One.
It also supports WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0 Low Energy, DLNA, NFC, GPS, LTE up to 150MBPS (in select regions obviously). It supports AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon’s LTE networks as well. It’ll also use a nanoSIM much like the Moto X, DROID Ultra, DROID Maxx and DROID Mini did last year. HTC has also opted to keep the front-facing speakers and the IR Blaster for those wondering.
Those are the specs for the new HTC One M8, and yes they have decided to call it the HTC One M8, instead of the All New HTC One. Which is slightly better, but I’m not sure how much better. Who’s planning on picking one up?
