Samsung appears to be pulling out all the stops to sell their Galaxy S5. Although we can’t say we are surprised as they spend so much on marketing each year. Samsung, today, revealed a suite of app upgrades for future Galaxy S5 owners. These apps will be given to new Galaxy S5 owners alongside their new smartphone. Some of these are only a few months subscriptions, but it’s still a free subscription to certain services. For instance Evernote and Linkedin’s premium services only give you three months, while you also get The Wall Street Journal for six months and Bloomberg’s Business week for a year.
That’s not all though, Samsung is giving a year of service for apps like Run Keeper and Lark. You’re also getting a 6-month subscription to Map My Fitness, and Skimble. Samsung’s putting out lots of great services to go with their new Galaxy S5. It’s quite interesting that they have added a bunch of health apps like Run Keeper and Map My Fitness, I’m surprised there’s nothing that uses the new heart-rate sensor on the Galaxy S5.
We’ve already heard from T-Mobile and Carphone Warehouse that the number of people interested in the Galaxy S5 crushes the numbers they saw last year for the Galaxy S4. Which is good for Samsung, and I’m sure they are still going to sell a ton of them. But I really wonder how many of the Gold Galaxy S5’s they will sell this year? I really like the black and blue versions of the Galaxy S5 though, especially with the back from the Nexus 7 (2012). It should be a bit less slippery than the Galaxy S4 and even Galaxy S3 were.
