UK Network Gives Us Some Idea of Galaxy S5 Pricing; Prices the Gear 2 Neo and Gear Fit at £199

For quite some time now, we’ve been wondering just how much Samsung’s latest and greatest, the Galaxy S5 is going to cost and while we have some sort of idea, it’s been difficult to pinpoint. The same can be said for the new line of Gear smartwatches from the Korean giant. While pre-orders of the latest Galaxy S device from Samsung don’t start in the UK until March 28th, the UK network Three has gone ahead and announced their pricing for the Galaxy S5, and unsurprisingly we’re not look at something cheap.

With an upfront payment of £69, on a 24-month contract the Galaxy S5 will cost you £38 a month for 2GB of data, and 600 minutes of talk time, move that up to £44 a month and you’ll get unlimited data and and talk time. That makes for a 24-month agreement at £44 a month, which doesn’t quite help us work out the SIM-Free price of the device, but with Three being one of the more affordable UK networks, it’s still not a cheap device however, these prices aren’t as steep as we might have expected.

The same can be said for the Gear 2 Neo and Gear Fit, both of which have been priced by Three at £199, which is fairly reasonable for something as featureful, the Sony SmartWatch 2 in the UK currently retails on Amazon for £100 and up, but it has been on the market for some time now. The Galaxy S5 and friends don’t go up for sale until April 11th, which gives folks like HTC a little bit of a window to get in some sales beforehand, which is exactly what we’re hearing right now. If you’re one of our dear UK readers, and you’re thinking about getting either the Gear 2 Neo, the Gear Fit or the Galaxy S5 let us know in the comments below!
