Bell Adds the Alcatel OneTouch Pop 7 Tablet

Bell finally adds a more ‘entry-level’ tablet to its collection today with the introduction of the Alcatel OneTouch Pop 7 for only $179.95 off-contract and only $29.95 with a two-year commitment. It will run  on the 4G HSPA+ (up to 21 Mbps) network or on Wi-Fi. The cheapest tablet offered before on Bell is the iPad mini for $309.95 on a two-year deal – quite a jump – so those of you on Bell interested in a 7-inch tablet, may want to check out the OneTouch Pop 7.  This is the third Alcatel product Bell is selling – the other two are smartphones, the Alcatel OneTouch Idol X and the OneTouch Idol Mini…both are $0 on a two-year agreement.  All entries are equipped to run on 4G networks.

This new 7-inch tablet has a touchscreen display resolution of 1024 x 600 and is of the TFT variety.  It uses a dual-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz with 1GB of RAM and 4GB of built-in internal memory, but it can be expanded another 32GB with a microSD Card.  The main camera is 2MP and the front-facing camera is only .3MP – not really designed for video chatting or a flattering selfie.  All of this is powered by a 3240mAh battery, which promises up to 13 days of standby time. You can watch TV anywhere with the Bell TV App.  The OneTouch Pop 7 comes with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean loaded on the device.  The dimensions are 192 x 113 x 8.9 mm and it weighs in at 285 grams.

Bell claims you will enjoy your new OneTouch Pop 7 on Canada’s largest 4G LTE network with the world’s fastest and most advanced mobile technology while never dropping to 2G.  They also claim the most TV channels on their Mobile TV App – over 30 live TV shows.  Bell also boosts that it has the largest Wi-Fi network across Canada and as a Bell subscriber, you will have access to this vast network, that includes participating McDonald’s, Tim Hortons, Indigo, and Chapters locations.  To get you started, Bell also has a Trade-in program – trade in your old phone or tablet and get up to $250 towards a new one.

Please let us know on our Google+ Page if you are thinking of getting a tablet, especially with the price so reasonable now that Bell offers the Alcatel OneTouch Pop 7 in its lineup…as always, we would love to hear from you.
