Featured Review: Power Jacket for the Samsung Galaxy S5

While the battery life on the Samsung Galaxy S5 might be improved over the Galaxy S4. There are still some people who may need more juice for whatever reason. And that’s why we have cases that have built in batteries like the Power Jackets for the Galaxy S5. Today, we are taking a look at two Power Jackets for the Samsung Galaxy S5. One is just a jacket with a 3500mAh battery inside to charge up your Samsung Galaxy S5. The other has a flip cover on the front and has a 4800mAh battery inside to keep your phone charged up. The jacket is made of a white plastic, the glossy plastic that Samsung used to use on all their devices. So if you liked that kind of material, you’ll like this case. While the the one with the flip cover is black and is made of the soft-touch plastic that the Nexus 7 2013, Nexus 5 and the Samsung Galaxy S5 have. They both have built-in kickstands as well. Which is a nice addition in my opinion.

Both models do have a USB 3.0 port at the bottom, so you are able to use the same cable to charge it that came with your Samsung Galaxy S5. So there’s no need to be taking out the case to charge it. Which is a nice necessity here, I think. They can both charge up your Galaxy S5 about once, depending on how low it is. Which should be enough to get through the rest of your day. Additionally, there is a LED notification at the bottom that shows you how much battery is left. That’s always a good feature to have on cases like this.

As far as pricing and availability goes, they are both available on Brando’s website right now. The Power Jacket is $33 and the Power Jack with Cover is $38. They are available in both black and white as well, to match the color of the Galaxy S5 that you picked up.
