Just when we thought that Google TV was dead, it looks like Google is still working on some type of Google TV device. Earlier today, the changelog for Android 4.4.3 surfaced up on the AOSP site. Which it’s a pretty long changelog, I mean it’s a 4000-line changelog, which brings us every single commit and change since the initial Kitkat update. A few guys were going through the Changelog and we found a few codenames for new devices in the changelog. One was Flounder, which is a HTC device. The other is Molly, which is a Google TV device, built by Google it appears. Here’s what Google has listed in their changelog:

The source code also hints at this Google TV Set top box running on a NVIDIA Tegra processor. Although it’s not clear as to which Tegra processor it will be. Hopefully it’s the Tegra K1 which was announced back at CES in January. What’s interesting is that “Flounder” is also being referenced as a Tegra device as well. So it looks like Google has a few Tegra devices coming out at Google I/O or shortly after.
Google I/O is coming up in late June, and it’s gearing up to be a pretty exciting one. We’re looking at a new Nexus tablet, a new set-top box, a new version of Android, some Android Wear stuff and perhaps some Google+, Google Maps and other goodies coming out in San Francisco.
