Those who are familiar with the Droid DNA may know that back before it was released, the HTC J Butterfly came out in other regions. While it wasn’t sporting HTC’s absolute best specs, it was still holding decent enough hardware that made it a good device. The follow up to the HTC J Butterfly might end up being the HTC B2, which evleaks has been kind enough to drop some press render image leaks of just recently. In the image we can only see the front end of the device so we can’t see any of the details about the camera or flash placement on the back. We can see from the front though that there is a front facing camera and that it has top and bottom speaker placement just like on the HTC One and One M8,and a couple other various devices, and it looks to be devoid of any soft keys. It also has a little bit of a taller design like the HTC One M8, So it seems that HTC likes this particular style as these aren’t the only two recent HTC devices that have this taller design.
While evleaks didn’t provide any details about the HTC B2 himself, @LlabTooFer has mentioned some rumored specs that we might end up seeing on the device once it releases. The B2 is rumored to be launching in Japan and Taiwan only though so it’s likely that whatever specs it comes with won’t matter much to consumers where the phone isn’t available. That is of course unless the B2 just like the J Butterfly, ends up with another variant for the U.S. with the same specs. According to @LlabTooFer, we should be expecting to see the HTC B2 comes with the same specs as the HTC One M8.
It may not look it from the render, but if that is truly the case than we’ll be seeing the same Ultrapixel sensor quality for the camera on the back, and we could likely see HTC put the Boom Sound speakers inside as well. They already have the dual-front facing speakers so that isn’t a huge leap. That would also suggest that the HTC B2 would come with 2GB of RAM and have the same processor type, among other things like potentially display resolution, GPU, and battery. For now we’ll just stare at the render and wonder what’s really going to be inside.
