Huawei's Latest Ad for the P7 Details its Supermodel Thinness and Superhero Toughness

Huawei might still be a Chinese manufacturer struggling to get their devices off the ground outside of China, but they sure do make nice devices. Or should that be thin devices? In the case of the new Ascend P7, Huawei has created one of the thinnest devices in the world, coming in at just 6.5mm thick. Despite being one of the thinnest devices out there, the Ascend P7 still manages to squeeze in 2GB of RAM and a quad-core CPU of their own design. A lot of people might be thinking that this is a device that won’t be available outside of China, but the P7 is an international flagship of sorts for Huawei and will be available throughout Europe, the Middle East and Asia.

The P7 is a 5-inch 1080p device that costs just €449 throughout Europe and is also available in the UK, too. Huawei is looking to drum up some more interest for their new device and as such, they’ve come up with another bizarre ad to highlight the fact the P7 is both thin and tough. The below video is perhaps not one of Huawei’s best marketing pieces, as the supermodel and plastic surgery theme is a little tasteless, but considering the Ascend P7 is more fashion than it is phone, we can’t hold too much against Huawei, here. It’s a funny ad and certainly gets across the main points of the Ascend P7, that’s for sure.

Hopefully, the P7 can really help put Huawei on the map outside of China, as the company is certainly a successful one, becoming the third largest smartphone manufacturer in the world. Competition is healthy in an industry like the mobile one and to see more players like Huawei might push innovation further, and we might end up seeing some truly different designs and features in the future.
