Motorola Moto E Specs

Earlier today, Motorola took wraps off of their most affordable smartphone yet, the Motorola Moto E. As you might expect from a device that’s designed first and foremost to be affordable to all, there isn’t all that much to write home about when it comes to specs, but there’s more than meets the eye as well. So, let’s take a closer look at what makes the Moto E, the Moto E.

On the processing side of things, there’s a Snapdragon 200 under the hood which is a dual-core CPU with a 1.2 Ghz clock speed, and features an Adreno 302 GPU. This is backed up with 1GB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage, but there is room for microSD cards up to 32GB. While these specs won’t give you a device to play the latest titles with the best frame rates or anything, it’s more than good enough for everyday use and you will be able to play some games with this combo.

The Moto E is powered by a 1,980 mAh battery which Motorola is claiming to last “all day”. A nearly 2,000 mAh battery for a phone this size is a very good offering though, so Motorola might just be right depending on how you use your device.

Those looking to get the Moto E unlocked will be looking to see what bands it supports. The Moto E supports UMTS 850/900/1900/2100, AWS 850/1700/1900 (2100) + QGSM 850/900/1800/1900, GSM 850/900/1800/1900 and CDMA 800/850/1900. If all of that means nothing to you, then it’s perhaps best to buy it from your carrier or network. Those looking for 4G will be disappointed to see that it isn’t here, but at this price, what can you expect? In countries such as India, dual-SIM variants will be made available, too. The Moto E uses a micro SIM.

Connectivity wise the Moto E supports everything you think it would with Micro USB 2.0 a 3.5mm headphone jack, WiFi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS with GLONASS and even features an FM Radio for those times you want to listen to music but don’t have 3G or any new tunes stored on your device.

Last but not least, the Moto E features Android 4.4.2 KitKat at launch, and is guaranteed to get an update to whatever the next version will be. For those curious the Moto E weighs just 142g and measures 124.38 x 64.8 x 12.3mm. There you have it, this is the Moto E by the numbers.
