For months there has been speculation and questions revolving around what the next Nexus device would be like, what specs it would hold, what version of Android would come through powering the device and when we could expect a release. The Nexus line is generally the most talked about set of devices when it comes to rumors and speculation, and there has already been a few rumors here and there that there would be no more Nexus devices after this next device to come. With information floating around about Android Silver, many also think that it could be replacing the Nexus line of devices and that is a possibility but there is nothing to confirm that as of yet.
The newest rumor surrounding the Nexus(more specifically the Nexus 6)comes from evleaks stating that “there is no Nexus 6, farewell Nexus.” Now there is no image to go along with that and no other information whatsoever, it’s just that one simple statement. Evleaks is generally known for putting out solid information when it comes to leaks, but with nothing else to go off of other than this at the moment we have to take this with a heavy grain of salt and suggest you do the same. That doesn’t mean rule out that possibility though. Although that first statement is rather bare, evleaks has followed up the tweet suggesting that the Nexus 6 is no more, with a new tweet stating that we shouldn’t worry because there is a silver lining to this cloud.
Is he suggesting that Android Silver is indeed going to be the device taking its place? That what it seems like, but once again we still have no details so this is better left as something to chew on and speculate about for the time being. If there is any truth to all of this we might hear about it from Google officially at Google I/O next month, or perhaps they’ll lift the curtain before then. What do you make of this information? Are we entering a new age of Android devices carrying the Nexus torch into the future with Android Silver? As more information pops up we’ll keep you posted.
