Samsung Galaxy Tab S Tablets With AMOLED Displays to be Unveiled June 12

Today we found out that Samsung will be holding an event in New York City on June 12 to present its next generation of tablets – the Galaxy Tab S series which will have their Super AMOLED screen. Rumors of Samsung returning to AMOLED displays on their tablets have been circulating for over a year.  The other day, the FCC showed the latest Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5, on the internet.  The version showed by the FCC was the Wi-Fi version (SM-T800), although our source knows that Samsung is planning on releasing four different models of the Galaxy Tab S – an 8.4-inch model, one with Wi-Fi (SMT700) and one with Wi-Fi and LTE (SM-T705) – a 10.5-inch tablet with Wi-Fi (SM-T800) and Wi-Fi and LTE (SM-T805).  There may also be a 13.3-inch tablet revealed as well, but it will have a LCD display.

They will all have a 2560 x 1600 resolution with the same design as the Galaxy S5 – the perforated backing and a fingerprint scanner.  They will sport an Exynos 5429 Octa-Core processor with four 1.9GHz Cortex-A15 cores and four 1.3GHz Cortex-A7 cores couple with 3GB of RAM.  They will have an 8MP main camera and a 2.1MP front-facing camera for video chatting and the occasional selfie.  They will feature Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, GPS/GLONASS, and LTE connectivity.  It will also sport an IR Blaster, Android 4.4 KitKat, with Samsung’s Magazine UX. Samsung is not saying what all will be showcased at the tablet event, except that it is a new line of devices.  From all of the information our source has, it seems a certainty that the new high-end tablets will be announced.

Samsung has made it their mission to knock off Apple and their iPad from the top of the ‘tablet mountain.’  They have made great strides in the past year by offering a tablet in every size and in every price range, and so far, their strategy seems to be working.  With their Galaxy Note Pro and Tab Pro introduced this past year and now the new Galaxy Tab S series, Samsung now has a complete line of tablets to do battle with the iPad.
