Xiaomi's Redmi Note Now Available to China Mobile Users

When Xioami released the Redmi Note, it was clear that they were going to have a successful device on their hands. The Chinese public is already in love with Xiaomi’s devices, but the Redmi Note ticks all the right boxes for the Chinese buyer. It has a large display at 5.5-inches, it features good software tailored to the Chinese user and it cuts a decent compromise between price and performance. Following in the footsteps of the original Redmi, the device has been steadily rolling out one by one for use on different Chinese networks. Now, at long last, the Redmi Note is available for China Mobile users.

You might be wondering why this is a big deal, well China Mobile is not only the biggest network in China, it’s the biggest network in the world. As of February 2014 the network has over 775 Million subscribers, to put things into perspective for our Western readers, Verizon Wireless has somewhere in the region of 120 Million (as of March 2014). Of course, this is a big deal for Xiaomi, as another of their high-profile releases is now available on the country’s largest network, which begs the question as to whether or not the Chinese company can keep up with demand.

Specifically, China Mobile users will be able to get their hands on the Octa-Core version of the Redmi Note complete with 2GB of RAM. It’s a shame that the MediaTek CPU means this is running just Android 4.2.2, but we’re hoping MediaTek can fix this soon. Still, for 999 Yuan, there’s a lot worse out there and now with the Redmi Note now available to a whole lot more customers, we’re sure Xiaomi’s online site will be inundated with orders over the next few weeks.
