Amazon Holding An Event On June 18th To Announce A 3D Smartphone?

Amazon isn’t done with releasing devices this year. Perhaps product would be the better word. At this point we have no idea exactly what the “product” is that they’re referring to but they have started inviting customers to a new launch event that is supposed to be happening in Seattle on June 18th. Rumors are suggesting that this could be the long talked about Amazon smartphone that is said to be carrying six camera sensors and supports some sort of three dimensional technology, but so far there aren’t any actual details about the device other than the reactions of those that were filmed when using it.

Amazon wanted to get some real life impressions of what people thought about the device before they unveil it to the world, and all the people that got to see and presumably touch the device all had similar reactions, with one individual stating things were “pretty damn intuitive” and another asking if he had to give the device back. We imagine that whatever Amazon has up their sleeves it will set out to wow the public and judging by what people are already thinking it should be something pretty amazing. While Amazon hasn’t been actively sending out invites to people they have opened up the capability for requesting invites to the event to be held in a couple weeks, which they linked to in a tweet posted up just earlier.

You can view the video of people’s reactions below and everyone seems to thoroughly enjoy interacting with what Amazon had to show them. One person in the video comments that the device moved with her which we can assume was in reference to the front sensors moving with the person as they sway from side to side as many of the people do throughout the video. Although we know nothing about what these people saw, what’s going on in my mind is that perhaps this device was carrying some camera sensors on the front allowing the person to view what was on the screen from other angles even when not looking directly at it from a front view, due to the sensors tracking their movement and adjusting the view of on screen content accordingly. That is purely speculation but how cool would that be? You can view the video below and click the source link to the amazon tweet where there is a link to request an invite to the event.
