We barely have the HTC One M8 in our hands and we’re already hearing rumors of the next HTC One device, coming in Q1 of next year. While the HTC One M8 Prime has been cancelled already, and Evleaks believes it will remain that way, HTC is still doing a prime version of their next device. The HTC One M9 Prime is slated to hit shelves first and be available in Q1 of 2015. Which is about the same time as the M8 was available. It actually came out with a few days left in Q1, but only on Verizon and at Carphone Warehouse. So it’ll be released a bit earlier next year. It’s also said that we will see another iteration on the design of the HTC One series.
Right now, we have no idea what kind of specs we are looking at for the HTC One M9, but we may see a Snapdragon 805 or even a 808 processor inside that device. As well as 3GB of RAM, and likely a Quad HD display, as that will be all the rage by that time. It’s important to note that none of these specs are confirmed or even leaked, but just speculation based on what will be on the market at that time since we are seeing the Galaxy Note 4 with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 this fall.
So it’s looking like next year we’ll have an expensive One M9 Prime, then a cheaper One M9, and a smaller and even cheaper One Mini 3? Looks like HTC is going to be hitting all of the price points with the M9 series next year which is important, actually. How many of you are excited for the One M9 to be released next year? I’m interested to see whether HTC goes with a UltraPixel camera again, since the E8 has a regular 13MP camera inside and not a 4MP UltraPixel camera. Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
