For those of you out there that are running a Nexus 5 as their smartphone of choice right now, and on T-Mobile’s network I might add, you should be happy to know that the factory images for Android version 4.4.3 for the Nexus 5 are up and have been posted. T-mobile indirectly hinted that the update to Android 4.4.3 would be coming to the Nexus 5 today, and it seems they weren’t wrong as Google has just posted the factory images and binaries for the Android 4.4.3 software build for seemingly every Nexus device(not just the Nexus 5)that is still supported and will be getting this update.
That includes the Nexus 5 of course, the Nexus 4, the Nexus 7 2013 model(wifi only), the Nexus 7 2012 model(both wifi and 3G) and the Nexus 10. These are just factory images so these are not the actual OTA updates just yet, but rest assured those are coming and on the way, so be watching for those to start hitting devices soon and the OTA download links will more than likely be hitting the web soon as well. Build numbers are separated into two categories, with the Nexus 5 Android 4.4.3 build being listed as KTU84M, while all other Nexus devices will be using build KTU84L. Since the factory images are available if you are versed well enough in the procedures of flashing a factory image onto your device, feel free to do so and go about your day. If you have never flashed a factory image to your device before it’s best to wait for the OTA download links to hit the web and flash the new version that way, or just simply wait for the OTA to hit your device in its due time. That could take days though so we don’t blame you if you don’t feel like waiting.
We’ll detail the changes we can find once we have had a chance to find some of them out, and if you’re running a custom ROM of some kind you’ll end up having to wait until your ROM developer updates with the latest build, that shouldn’t take too long though and for those of you out there who love to flash custom firmware like myself(running the latest version of Paranoid Android)we’ll probably see a new nightly pop up before too long.
