The first fingerprint scanner to get mainstream popularity on a phone was on the iPhone 5s. Since then the trend is slowly making its move. The most noteable company to add such a feature was Samsung with the release of their Galaxy S5. The latest company to jump on the band wagon is the Chinese Manufacturer Huawei. With an expected June 24th launch date, the Huawei Honor 6 or also called the Glory, is the next in line of Hisilicon powered phones from Huawei. Judging by the dummy models, the Honor 6 will have a rounded design with a much thinner bezel. The leaked photos look somewhat similar to the Galaxy S5. Interestingly enough, the alleged photos show a fingerprint sensor which is placed on the back of the device just under the camera. The placing of the fingerprint sensor seems to be such an odd place, but going by these photos, it’s what the Chinese manufacturer wants.
Now in terms of specs, the Huawei Honor 6 is said to run their home grown Kirin Processor. The processor is a 1.3 GHz octa-core chip made by Huawei. Huawei’s Kirin is also rumored to reach Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 805 benchmark scores. We’re not too sure on how true that claim is, so we’ll hold on to that fact until the phone is released. Paired with the supposed high powered processor will be 3GB of ram. The screen will be the modern day standard of 5 inches and will have a screen resolution of 1080p.
The Huawei Honor 6, or Glory if you would like to call it that, is still a mystery to us. With the look of a Samsung Galaxy S5, to its square fingerprint scanner on the back, the success of the device is questionable. Hopefully the Chinese Manufacturer will give us all the juicy info we need when they finally show us the device that will go toe to toe with leading companies. As of right now the price of Huawei’s next flagship device is unknown. The expected launch is literally around the corner so more news will surface in the coming days. As always, let us know your thoughts in the comments below and check out the slideshow of photos of the Honor 6.
