On Monday, Lenovo began pre-orders for their first touch-screen Chromebook. That’s the N20P. It was announced earlier this year, but is just now beginning to become available for purchase. It’ll set you back about $330, which isn’t too bad, given the specs. As far as specs go, we’re looking at an Intel Pentium Dual-Core N2830 2.16 GHz Processor (1MB L2 cache), 2 GB DDR3 RAM, 16 GB Solid-State Drive, and an 11.6-Inch touch-screen. It’s a 1366×768 resolution display as well. It’s dimensions are 11.61 x 8.35 x 0.71 inches. It also has WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0, HDMI, and USB 3.0 ports. There’s also a front-facing webcam so that you can do hangouts from your Chromebook, as always.
According to Lenovo,

There’s no word on when exactly it’ll be available for purchase. But you can pre-order now and it’ll ship to you as soon as it’s available. Hopefully it’ll be available before the end of July though. We are looking at seeing a ton of other Chromebooks coming out this year as well. Including some from HP, Acer, ASUS, and many others. In fact, Acer has one with an Intel Core i3 processor coming soon, that should be a pretty powerful beast.
PC makers are beginning to switch over to Chromebooks because they are selling and PC’s just simply aren’t. Simply because of the price, Chromebooks are selling like crazy. As Sundar Pichai said during Google I/O last week, many of the top selling laptops on Amazon are Chromebooks. Even though many of us would argue that they are not laptops.
