LG G Watch Reportedly Getting A U.K Launch On July 7th Costing Under £169.99

Google I/O is just around the corner, well kind of, and earlier this morning it seems to have been confirmed that the LG G Watch will not only be making an appearance at the annual developer conference but will also be one of the items given away to all Google I/O attendees, which should excite just about everyone that will be showing up at the event. For everyone else, the main question is when will the LG G Watch be available to purchase for consumers and how much will it cost? It seems that the answer to that could be July 7th, at least in the U.K. according to MoDaCo. Not only will that put the release of the first Android Wear smartwatch in just under two weeks after Google I/O ends, but the price for U.K. residents will reportedly be set below £169.99. That isn’t the official cost of the device we know but it’s as close as we’re going to get for now.

MoDaCo mentions that they weren’t able to divulge the actual price of the LG G Watch just yet which means they do know the price. We suppose knowing what price it comes in under is sufficient though and it makes us happy to know that it will cost less than the Gear 2 Neo smartwatch from Samsung. There is no word as of yet if the release date for other regions like the U.S. will be on the same date and since we don’t know the official pricing of the LG G Watch for U.K. consumers just yet we can’t proceed to make a guess based off of the exchange rate, but it apparently won’t be too expensive and if I had to personally guess it would be $199. That is simply a guess though and not in any way backed by confirmation. I suppose it’s more accurately described as a hope for the U.S. pricing.

Finding out a general release window for the LG G Watch gets us pretty excited and we know our very own Tom Dawson will probably be ready with money in hand to pick this thing up. He’ll have to replace his Sony Smartwatch 2 though. Is anyone else out there a U.K resident and gearing up to grab this as soon as it opens up for purchase?
