The LG G Watch is going on sale today at Google Play. It’s not yet available at the time of writing this post, but it should be available later today. The LG G Watch is one of the first Android Wear smartwatches out there. It’s launching today alongside Samsung’s Gear Live smartwatch. So what kind of specs can we expect from the LG G Watch? Well let’s go over them.
Specs for the LG G Watch include a 1.65-inch 280×280 IPS Display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor inside, 512MB of RAM and 4GB of storage, 400mAh battery, Bluetooth 4.0, Gyroscope, Accelerometer, Compass as well as running on Android Wear. Which is compatible with Android devices running Android 4.3 and above – due to Bluetooth 4.0 LE. As far as dimensions go, we’re looking at 37.9 x 46.5 x 9.95mm, and it’ll weigh in at about 63 grams. It’s available in white Gold, and black titan colors. It’s also IP67 waterproof, but so are just about every other Android smartwatch.
Great to see that some Android Wear devices are finally becoming available. It’ll be sweet to get this device in hand and see just how great it really is. Both the LG G Watch and the Samsung Gear Live are available later today (Moto 360 will be available later this summer). So far there’s no word on pricing for the LG G Watch, but the Samsung Gear Live is going for about $199. Which is competitive with their Gear 2 Neo which was launched with the Samsung Galaxy S5. The best part about these two smartwatches is that it’s compatible with any Android device compatible with Android 4.3. So that now we don’t have to worry about having a device that is compatible. How many of you are planning on picking up a LG G Watch or a Samsung Gear Live?
