LG G Watch

LG G Watch Information:

Google's Android Wear platform has been rumored for a long time. Android enthusiasts have been waiting for the Mountain View tech giant to release some sort of wearables platform and Google did just that in June 2014 when the company presented the Android Wear platform along with two first Android Wear smartwatches, one of which was the LG G Watch. This smartwatch is not exactly the most stylish piece of hardware, its design is industrial and understated, but the watch itself is actually rather capable in terms of hardware (for a smartwatch). Talking about hardware, let's see what lays inside.

LG G Watch sports a 1.65-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 280 x 280. This smartwatch comes with 512MB of RAM and is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor. You also get 4GB of internal storage here and Bluetooth 4.0 so that you can connect this thing to your smartwatch. 400mAh battery which lays on the inside should be plenty enough to get you through the day, the G Watch measures 37.9 x 46.5 x 9.95mm while it weighs 63 grams. The LG G Watch also comes with IP67 certification for water and dust resistance and Android Wear, of course, comes pre-installed. The watch is available in Titan Black and White Gold color options.

LG G Watch Editor Rating:

As I already mentioned, this smartwatch isn't exactly the most beautiful smartwatch you'll ever see, its design is industrial and understated, but some people actually like that. Samsung's Gear Live is a somewhat different offering, so if you don't like the G Watch you have another option at the moment, though many more Android Wear-powered smartwatches are going to be released in the coming months, including the Motorola's Moto 360 for those of you who are waiting for an elegant, rounded smartwatch. The G Watch is well built and will serve you just fine, I actually really like it, but as I said, it's a matter of preference.
