Recently, we’ve been hearing a lot about Oppo’s N1 Mini, a smaller version of a device that launched last year. It appeared on the company’s website with some information about the device, but nothing concrete to go on. Now though, the company has held an event, as it was planning to, in China and the Oppo N1 Mini – along with another new device – has been officially announced, which means we have more information on specs as well as price for our Chinese readers. One big thing that Oppo is now pushing with all of their devices, like the Oppo Find 7, is 4G support.
The N1 Mini is confirmed to be a device packing a 5-inch 720p IPS display, and will be powered by a quad-core Snapdragon CPU, which we’re assuming to be of the Snapdragon 400 variety as well as 2GB of RAM. The N1 Mini is both lighter and of course much smaller than the original N1, but the swiveling camera remains and features a 13-megapixel Sony sensor with a 6-piece lens arrangement with an f/2.0 aperture. This miniature version of the N1 is to come in a light blue color, white and a lemon type of yellow. Built from a magnesium alloy body, this might be a smaller version of the N1, but it doesn’t look to be a poor copy or anything like that. The N1 Mini will be available soon in China for 2,699 Yuan.
On to something a little more affordable and Oppo also announced the R3, a 6.3mm thick device that features 4G as well as a quality camera of its own at 8-megapixels and a 5-megapixel camera around the front. There’s a 5-inch 720p display included with the R3 as well. This is powered by a Snapdragon CPU at 1.6 Ghz with 1GB of RAM and will be available in China soon for 2,299 Yuan. Not a huge amount is known about these new devices just yet, but the Oppo N1 Mini will be going on sale soon along with the R3 and both devices will be running Oppo’s ColorOS 1.4 and support 4G, so the opportunity for import sounds tempting.
